UHR has not published a pass mark. The test is new — the first sitting was held on 15 August 2026 — and UHR sets the threshold from the results after a sitting rather than announcing it in advance. Anyone quoting a pass mark for medborgarskapsprovet today is guessing.
UHR has not yet announced the next sitting; it has said the date will be published during the autumn. From 2027 the fee is 2,000 SEK a sitting, set in Förordning (2026:451). UHR has also said the number of questions and the time limit for the next sitting are still to be confirmed.
Applicants for Swedish citizenship who have to show knowledge of Swedish society. Nordic citizens applying on the two-year route are exempt, and the knowledge requirement can also be met in other ways. Migrationsverket decides which applies to your case; UHR only runs the test.
Swedish citizenship also asks for 8 years of residence on the standard route, a language qualification and a clean record — each with its own rules on absences and timing.
